Truble Code P0411

Hello out there,
I hope someone can help me. I have a 1997 Lincoln Cont. There is a trubble code P0411 that was set. can someone tell me the best way to fix this. I need to have it fixed by June 1st

From the book:

P0411 Secondary Air Injection system incorrect upstream flow detected

Two very large subdivisions in the manual address this fault code.

As you can see by the descriptions, one procedure is for an Electric Air Pump, and the other addresses a Belt Drive Air Pump.

Which is yours? I can get some of the procedures if you show me the right direction.

Basically it all begins like this:

TROUBLE CODE (DTC) P0411

DTC P0411 indicates that Secondary Air is not being diverted when requested.

Possible causes:

-- Vacuum hoses damaged.

-- AIRB/AIRD valve inoperative.

-- Air Pump inoperative.

-- AIRB/AIRD solenoids damaged.

• Visually inspect vacuum lines for disconnects in the AIR system.
  
• Visually inspect for proper vacuum line routing. Refer to VECI decal.
• Visually inspect Air Pump for broken or loose Air Pump Belt. Refer to belt adjustment/replacement.

Were any problems found?

Yes
SERVICE as necessary, Re-Test.

No
GO to next process.
