ABS Mayhem

hmmmm i made the ABS light go away by soldering the broken wires http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=557922 however ...... my antilock brake system feels and sounds terrible on the wet roads we have today. seems like just the other side of the firewall (drivers side, engine compartment) there is alot of heavy vibration and noise when i put on the brakes hard (even not so hard), mabey four-six pulses/ second. anyone know the campaign sticker code for ABS reprograming? for now i've pulled the fuse for my ABS..... it is a hazard the way it works now.
any help will be most welcome.

Re: ABS Mayhem

You are just fine pulling the ABS fuse. People do it all the time with they offroad with their Isuzus.

Re: ABS Mayhem

thanks for your reply Ryan, I've been driving the Rodeo for years without the ABS (fuse). This ABS light was the last issue to correct, or I thought so......
Can you or someone tell me if the symptoms I described indicate the need for ABS reprograming or another problem?

Re: ABS Mayhem

Isuzu ABS is really noisy when it operates. Mine rarely ever activates, even when offroading on very loose stuff.

The safety campain (02I-002) addressed in service bullitin SB03-09-S001D applies to all '98 and '99 rodeos. If you dont know if yours has been done call an isuzu dealer and the will check the VIN to see if its been done. If not you can take it in to have the controller replaced. Took them about 10-15 minutes to do mine.
