caught in a bind

hello... been on these forums for a while over in the 1:24 Car Models section
but time to move on from those small cars to the real thing

My parents are buying me a brand new car for my graduation present
limit is under 20k
I'm down to 4 cars::
don't know which to pick though

~08' Lancer GTS
~07' Civic 4dr EX
~07' Corolla S
~07' Toyota Yaris Liftback

the Lancer I LIKE alot cause it looks aggressive and the shark nose styling
but the milage 21/29 and I like the Mag Paddle Shifters but M/T is preffered so 100% of the car is in my control (didnt test drive it yet)

The Civic is just ok problem is that too many have it everytime I drive on the road I see one (I know stupid reason- but I wanna be unique you know... have something that you dont see everyday)

Corolla S is the same too, alot of people have it, and when I test drove it, just not enough power for me (currently borrow my parents cars 06 Xterra and 01 Prelude and they have power and the kick I want)

The Yaris surpirsingly I like it too, for a small car it has the kick I want for only 103HP and gas milage is great but its femish its like a huge jellybean

Getting picky for my first car... but I get bored of things that I don't like and I know the car will be with me for a while so yeah

thanks for the advice in advance

Re: caught in a bind

thats what I was thinking too

is there any negatives on the Lancer?
for now only thing that sucks on the lancer is the mpg
out of the 4 cars the lancer has the lowest mpg

Re: caught in a bind

Mitsu doesn't have the greatest history when it comes to warranties. personally i don't like them but it probably suits you the best from the 4 listed. I'd think the paddles would be an option and not standard. and none of the lancers have had great mpg compared to the competition.

Re: caught in a bind

Yeah man be EXTREMELY grateful that youre parents bought you a car...im paying for my 1st car 100% on my own...that's:

-the car (duh),

-AALLL of the insurance (im paying all of it now too since on the insurance policy...currently $50/month),

-Gas (which i pay for now too when i drive my parents' cars of course lol)

-and finally, all of the registration and other DMV bulls**t.

and i am in NO WAY saying this as a disgruntled spoiled brat because im proud to buy my own car....just saying you gotta be grateful you know.

you definetely should put your parents in an excellent old folks home when they retire in return for the car lmao
