Code 43 - 96 caravan 3.3L stall on highway

Please help...

It is a 96 Caravan 3.3L with 76K miles. When I drive on the highway at 75 mph for about 15 minutes, it would start losing power and stall and throws a code 43. I have to sit on the shoulder and wait 15 minutes or so and it would start and run fine for about 15 minutes...then i have to restart the process again.

After a few times, i found that if i drive 55 mph or less, then everything is fine. Since then, I have not been on the highway and it has not stall since and the code 43 also went away. But I took it on the highway the other day and the same thing happened.

i'm thinking that the fuel pump is not working well and so it cannot pump enough fuel during high speed. can someone give some input before i shell out $300 for a new fuel pump?
