Re: Driver Side Window will not come back up

Well, $600 later the window will now go up.

Needed a new module and switch.

Just bought the car last week. It is a nice ride, absolutely sweet inside and out.

Actually my Son purchased the car. He has wanted this style of Lincoln Towncar for quite a long time (5 years).

It has a lot of miles on it (174,000), but it is imaculate inside and out. The engine and transmission all check out fine.

I did explain to him at 174,000 do not be supprised if it will need a new engine or transmission within the next few years or less.

my 95 had 197,000 miles when i gave it to my friend and now it has 224,000 miles on it and the new owner has no problems with it at all. no leaks, doesn't burn oil, nothing. so as long as your son takes care of the car and does not abuse it or race it, he will have no problems. my old town car also had the ORIGINAL transmission in it and the fluid, pan gasket, and filer have been changed every 30,000 miles since the car was brand new. so its all about maintenance. keep the oil, tranny fluid, and anti-freeze fresh and clean and you will have no problems. i mean sure little things are going to go and it will problem need a tune up at 200,000 miles; however the engine and tranny will run strong with a little tender, love, and care. but the big thing he needs to know is this car is a cruiser. it may have a powerful motor, but he needs to keep in mind that the car is not meant for racing. its meant for riding in style.

Re: Driver Side Window will not come back up

The owner of my Lincoln was going on to the after insisting to his neice that car it great, change the oil and it will last forever. I know sometimes people talk crazy at those times but after two months I agree with him.

Good luck

I fully agree. With proper maintenance they will last a long time. He is 28 and is not the racing type. Maintenance has always been his short coming. But, he says this car is different.

The body, interior and engine look like a new car. Our mechanic was quite impressed. The previous owner had it scoped at a local Lincoln/Mercury Dealer. The only issue was a miss in one cylinder. They pulled the plug and found it to be gapped wrong. They replaced all 8 plugs and the miss went away.

Thanks for the input.
