What swap?
Alright, I havnt got my crx yet, because the guy hasnt got back in town yet. But, I've been thinking about different swaps for the CRX. I didnt want to spend that much money on the swap, and i was wondering if there is anything out there I could swap in, that would be less on money and about the same power?
I was going to do the LS swap. Poeple have told me that I could probally get like 9.7's on the 1/8, so im looking for a swap i can be around about that, but spend less money. My tuner guy says he can get the complete LS swap for $1,500.00 ... I'd like to only spend about a grand on a swap. Do you have any info, to help me? Thanks guys, Much appreciated. |

Re: What swap?
If your talking 9.7's in the quarter mile someone is feeding you a line. I doubt that engine would ever be capable of those times regardless of modification. I'm pretty sure the ls motor is the cheapest b series you can get

Yeah, 9.7 1/8 might be attainable with a not so tired b-swapped engine and other mods, including sticky tires and a good driver...

Re: What swap?
LS is definately the most bang for your buck... wild track times aside... it is probably one of the more easier swaps to pull off. Though there are alot of factors involved in the swap, depending upon trim level, origional drivetrain, and year, the most effective way I have found to save money doing the swap is to avoid buying a pricy mount kit. I have discovered that many of the mounts can be brought over from the Integra, and with a little modification even the transmission mount can be made to work. GOOD LUCK

Re: What swap?
Well, My tuner guy is going to be doing the install and he says he can get ls swap's for $1,500.00 all day. I was hoping to be able to find one cheaper, but what ive been told, im getting a decent deal. And to answer your question, No... I dont mean 9.7's in the 1/4, lol... I'm not a race car driver bro. haha
I'm just wanting a car close to a gsr civic, or close to a h22 accord. My bro inlaw has an h22 91 accord, and it's pretty quick. I'd like to be able to be around 3, maybe 4 lengths behind him on the 1/4. I think the ls might be around about that, not sure though. My tuner guy wont be in town for another week, so it will probally be about that till i get my crx. I cant wait to just drive/own a honda, instead of my Ford ZX2. Btw, He'll be using the integra mounts. |
