1993 Taurus GL Station Wagon OVERHEATING!!!

I would really appreciate any help that could aid me in fixing the problems I have with my car.

The engine overheats.

* I was told the water pump gasket needed to be replaced since the waterpump was leaking.

* The radiator doesnt get warm
* I have to keep the heater on to keep the engine from overheating when driving
* Also the coolant resevoir was leaking where the water pump was and it randomly stopped then began over heating constantly

The Steering wheel jerks back while turning. (ex. while turning right on an onramp the wheel will jerk to the left slightly until you straighten out)

There are a few other but I dont have much informaton or enough experience to explain them at this time. My main concern is the overheating any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Welcome to the forum!

Sounds like rather than just putting a water pump gasket on, you should consider replacing the entire water pump. While you have the cooling system drained, replace the thermostat as well. Test the pressure cap and replace if necessary. Make sure the cooling fan works properly as well.

As for the power steering jerking, have you checked the level of the fluid and listened for abnormal power steering pump noises?
