how to remove wax from a windshield

I need help!!! I went to the car wash yesterday. Somehow I have a big smear of wax on the front windshield on the passenger's side. I went back to the car wash and they said I must have done something. After a long argument, they wont do anything. How can I get this off my windshield

Re: how to remove wax from a windshield

Rubbing alcohol should take care of it... assuming it's wax... not sure what the problem is.

Re: how to remove wax from a windshield

At work (BMW dealership) we have this chemical called All Sol (pronaounced ALL SAUL) and it will remove wax buildup. Assuming you can't get your hands on this stuff, try a degreaser. Because since wax and grease are similar in that they dont absorb water, degreaser should do the trick.

Otherwise a whole lot of rubbing and towels

Clay-bar it, and then rub over with white vinegar

Re: how to remove wax from a windshield

if you have access to it, try using some Precleaner. Simply put, petroleum naptha. Spray on, wait a few seconds and wipe off. Cuts through wax pretty easy

Re: how to remove wax from a windshield

Degreaser or alcohol always helped me.... Since I started to use a windshield sealant, I have not had a problem removing anything from my windshield by only using water or a mild cleaning product......

Re: how to remove wax from a windshield

This is one of the reasons I stopped using regular wax and switched to Zaino. That stuff is expensive but comes off so easily and lasts a long time.
