ex to vx

With the constant increase in gas prices I thought of trying something.
I want to take a 6th gen Civic coupe ex (because it has vtec already) and put in a vx head and transmission. I am no so familiar with the 6th gens since I have a forth gen. My question is what am I going to need and need to know for this conversion? I know I will need the VX head, tranny, and intake manifold. Will I need the vx distibutor? will I have to do any rewiring and if so what? would it be easier to convert an ex than a dx because it is already vtec? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
