New 07 Corolla

I just bought a 2007 Corolla and I just have a few questions. I was looking in the owners manual and I could not find anything about changing the timming belt does anyone know when that is supposed to be changed? I also read that I need to put 87 or better gas in my car well in Montana there is 85.5 would it be ok to run this in my car? I have been told that 85.5 is equal to 87 since we are at a higher elevation. Not too sure if that is true or not.

Re: New 07 Corolla

I just bought a '06. It is equipped with a timing chain, not a belt. No need to replace it.

Re: New 07 Corolla

I just bought a 07 corolla S as well and i live here in Utah and the book also says to put 87 in it and i asked ppl about this and here in Utah we have 85, 87,91 and since we are at a high elevation as well ppl told me our 85 is most ppls 87. So i would say you are fine putting your 85.5 in it but if you hear any knocking just put the next higher grade in it. 85 works fine for mine and i don't hear any knocking.

I'm thinking of buying that one too. Your experience with it good so far?

Re: New 07 Corolla

I love my 07 corolla, We have just hit 1300 miles( we dont drive it too much) in 2 months. We put some american racing Estrella wheels on it. it looks shap. the 1.8L has some pep in its step as well. driving around town we get 29 MPG which is nice these days
