'02 Cruiser front end clunk
Hey everyone.
I need some help diagnosing a front end clunk. It occurs on the passenger side when going over bumps. The CV boots look fine and the bearings were packed recently and seem to be OK. I had the sway bar on the drivers side replaced a year ago. Could the passenger side bar be the culprit? Thanks |

Re: '02 Cruiser front end clunk
is it possible it's a worn bushing for there are many, tie rod, ball joint or a worn out strut. If your at a lower milage, I would suspect a strut, or strut bearing first.

Re: '02 Cruiser front end clunk
Check your swaybar bushings to frame. After replacing struts, bearings, tierods, controlarms(with bushings and ball joints) and a motormount i still had a clunk. I suspected the swaybar afterall everything had been replaced. So I just completely removed the swaybar from the car and took it for a test drive. The noise was gone. Also when i took off the swaybar off, I inspected the parts and i found that the the bushings on the swaybar (where they connect to the frame) were bad. It turns out that the bushing are hard and not very rubber like causing a clunk in the front end. So if you have rulled out every thing else you might want to try this.
