My OnStar is going away...any remedies?

Recently, I found out that my OnStar capabilities will no longer be available starting 1/1/08. The dealer said that my 2001 has the analog-only system and this system cannot be upgraded (as can the analog/digital-ready can be) to be able to function in 2008. According to the OnStar website, "some 2004, most 2005 and all 2006 and newer model-year GM vehicles with OnStar" have the dual-mode systems (either analog/digital-ready...or...analog/digital) that either must be upgraded to continue to function or are already capable to function after 1/1/08.

What I want to know is two things...

1. Do any 2004 or 2005 Park Avenues have the dual-mode systems or are they all the analog-only?

2. Is there a way to somehow swap something (a computer, a component, etc) with a dual-mode system-equipped car to give me the capabilities after 1/1/08?
