trying to change motor or fix the head on 94 mercury villager

does anyone know if a motor out of a 93 villager will fit and bolt up in a 94 and what about the wiring harnesses are they the same or if i should just try to fix the head on the 94 something wont let the cam turn forward but it will turn backwards everything else seems alright except when it jammed took teeth off timing belt at crank thanks
