Question What should i do?

Hey fellas and gals, i just bought a 1991 CRX Si, i was thinking about swapping it out with something, my question is.. with what, i've heard horror stories with both the DOHC ZC engine and the B16 out of the civic Si, overall which is the best.. i mean the B16 is certainly more expensive but for the more money is it worth it? thanks.

ZC- Cheap, nice power, aftermarket is pretty good

B16a- More expensive, more power than the ZC, aftermarket parts are all over the place, very easy to mod, lots of potential(all motor or turbo)

I have had both motors in my 4dr and I can say that I like the b16a better right of the box because it just has more power. Some people swear by the ZC. The ZC is nice because it is cheap and has nice power numbers. It depends what you are looking to get out of the car. Daily driver, Street/Strip monster, full race, auto-x/roadrace, etc

thanks 91zc

See i've heard the same, i want to lean towards the B16A b/c of the power, VTEC and i'm partial to that redline. but how complicated is it to swap a full B16? i've heard so many rumors about what axles to use from what other car, and if i need to replace the intake manifold and so on.. shift linkage. i've heard it all lol. right now i have 0 $$ but i'm saving up to do this. is the B16 the kind of swap you can do on your own? or is it too complicated??
thanks

I did the swap in my garage over this past winter. First time ever swapping a motor on my own...however I did have help from my brother. It is pretty easy if you have an Si or Hf since the wiring is already setup for mpfi. If it is a dx/lx or std it is quite different. Since you already have an Si the wiring will be cake. The axles all depend on what intermediate shaft you are using. The shift linkage depends on which mount kit you are using. There is no need to replace the intake manifold. '

If you have anymore questions feel free to ask.
