This guy got ripped off.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1998-...QQcmdZViewItem

Read the description, then check out the pictures.

MBC, CAI (Which doesn't exist for the GS-T's) and 2 gauges = $400 WTF? Look at the picture of the motor.....I don't see a CAI.

Greddy BOV & RRE UICP = $600 Where the hell does this guy get his parts!?!?!

One owner car that they bought with 14,000 miles on it. Huh?

I also love how he lists multiple times about how much research he did before buying the parts and that he did everything "right the first time", but he's freakin' venting the BOV.

Oh, and his mechanic told him that it's normal for the CEL to flash. Yeah, right. The ECU is just winking at him every once in awhile for installing the CAI that doens't exist.

What a freakin' tool.

I would say the car is almost worth it except for the fact it's an automatic...
But as for the CAI , he probably uses that descriptions for the cone filter he jammed in there which looks like its from autozone or somewhere worse.

And if he takes it to a mechanic and they say a CEL is ok , they should be kicked in the face ...a lot. Car over all looks good.

2300 in upgrades...lol..I can see MAYBE 1300 if he was honest but the guages are only like 40 each , the stupid trim piece around the cluster is off ebay and only like 30 , his MBC and BOV are probably ebay specials as well neither over 100 , the brakes unless they are hi-perf , rotors are only like 50 each at pep boys , pads even less.....tool indeed.

Re: This guy got ripped off.

I hate how he constantly insists it was "female driven". Fuck that shit. I know more girls who drive cars hard or awkward that put a lot of wear on the car. Most girls like to go fast also, that is not just a guy thing. And he does contradict himself a lot, like the "1 owner" part. Guy needs to get hit with a dose of common sense and a swift kick to the chest.

Very true indeed. My wife drives a 2000 Celica GTS, which I must say is pretty quick. The best part about that car is the suspension. DAMN!!! I haven't drive a car that handles like that since my RX-7 TT.

Anyway, my wife gives that thing hell on a regular basis. But there isn't anything sexier than a girl throwing a car around a turn at 70mph.

While we had that done we also instaled a Manuel boost control to keep the boost at 14-15 psi.

Who the hell is Manuel?

Re: This guy got ripped off.

Damn it all makes sense now...

If I had known that, I woulda bought the car... it being previously worked on by a famous guy and all...

Quote:
While we were in there we also added a gauge cluster and installed a Boost gauge to keep an eye on the pressure and a Volt meter to make sure charging system is up to par since the factory forgot to install these gauges in.
Damn, it's a good thing that they realized the factory's inadequate efforts at relaying information to the driver... What good is a car without a voltmeter....

I was also unaware that the factory neglected to put the boost gauge in that car... wow, Supranaz is really up to date with the latest technology...
