1995 325i problem

I have a 1995 325i with about 163000 miles on it. Lately when i drive down the road at any spped there is this constant rattling in the passanger side rear wheel well. Also when i seem to hit any type of bump or any type of crack in the road there is this loud bang in the drivers side rear wheel well. I was thinking that there may be a problem w/ the shocks or struts. What do you guys think???

check the rear springs if not that i'd inspect the brakes or bearings but really don't sound like it's in your brakes but you can see whats up by taking wheels off alot better..good luck....

well
does this constant rattling become more badly on high speed of (50-60 miles/h) ?
if yes go to check your wheel positioning and wheel aligment i think this will help ?
if want to check your shocks you can do this easily by your self :
1- go to the car side you suspect the shocks are bad
2- press it down by both of your hands with power ( putting much force as you can)
3- now you will see this side falling down more than the other one
4- leave your hand
5- it should slip up smoothly returning to its original position if the shock is working probably.

Re: 1995 325i problem

3 things commonly cause rear end noise.

Lower section of the coil spring is broken

upper shock mounts are bad

rear trailing arm bushings are shot
