1993 Suburban Fuel Filter Change

Sorry for posting so much, im just trying to keep each thread on one topic. I am wondering if my fuel filter needs replacing sometime soon, i have never replaced it and ive owned the truck for 1.5 years. I have a Chilton Repair Manual and the fuel filter doesnt look to hard to replace. Any tricks or suggestions to be made on this replacement? Any filter brands better than the rest? I plan on picking up an AC-Delco from a local parts store. Thanks!
