Re-Gearing Question

I have a 99’ Chevy Tahoe which I put 33” tires on. I’ve been told that I should re-gear my axle so that I’m getting the best performance out of my engine but don’t know where to even start. I use my Tahoe as a daily driver and about once a month take the family either camping or some other outdoor event though any real four-wheeling is minimal. I was wondering if anyone can explain to me, in laymen’s terms, what I need to know. Or, if anyone has any suggestions or links to recourses, I would be greatly appreciative.

I would start buy finding out what gears you have in your truck now. If nothing has been changed you can have the parts dept. at your local dealer run the vin and they can tell you what gear options your truck came with.

that's right, check what gears you have on first, if I were you I'll leave how it is I would only change the trans speedo gear to have accurate mileage, change them if you are wiling to waste more fuel you how expensive that is,
