Hi,
I am new here. When i turn on A/C, it works for few minutes (I can hear the clicking noise from the hood when it is working ) and then quit working. It has been dong that for almost a week. It always just working when i strat the car at the begining for few minutes and then quit. My friend is a mechanic help me looked at it and he said A/C compressor is fine (We touched the metal hose outisde and is very cool when it is working), he is thinking may be the A/C relay is dying but we not able to located the A/C relay from inside the fuse box under the hood (There are many relays in there) and i don't have the service manual. Can someone help me out? Could it be the A/C relay causing the problem or something else? If it is the relay where is the A/C relay located? Thanks. Mugen |

Re: 02 Altima A/C working for first few minutes then quit working
The a/c relay is located in the ipdmer, which is located directly in front of the alternator (from the pulley on the fender). Is does not sound like a relay problem. You do have a proper charge of refrigerant? Nissan did have a problem with the clutches on the compressors you might want to check that out.

Re: 02 Altima A/C working for first few minutes then quit working
Hi,
We will check that tonight, but when i swtich on A/C mode at first few minutes, i heard the A/C clicking sound coming from the hood and it is coming COLD A/C from the vent, but if i switch it off few minutes later and try to switch it back on again. I don't hear the A/C cling sound and there is NO COLD A/C air coming out from the vent. We have never refill A/C regerant but if that is low, how could be so cold in first few minutes and then quit working (No clicking sound) Thanks. |
