Blown S197, man I love this car :)
I just bought a supercharged fully loaded Mustang. It has leather(which I am changing out with some Corbeaus), Bassani exhaust, aftercooler, Predator, $2k worth of wheels, Shaker 1000 (which actually sounds pretty damn good), louvers, gauge pod with Cobalt boost gauge, wideband, and fuel pressure. I am going to buy a Snow water injection, a smaller pulley and see if we can get 475/475 to wheels out of it. We have a little higher octane here in England, so I think as long as I keep the revs down, it wont pop the engine. I will try to post pics. I paid 14k for it
Do any of you guys know how to put the car on a diet? Its extremly heavy.

You...the guy with all the answers...asking for advice...WTH? JK
![]() Ditch the jack, rear-seat delete. Any chance those 2k worth of wheels are a bit heavy? Hood and trunk lid should already be light...no help there. Ditch the louvers. |

Re: Blown S197, man I love this car :)
I also found the K member and A arms change is good for 50lbs
![]() Front seats are heavy pigs as well, change to CR1s is another 50lbs. Shaker 1000 amps and sub is about 50lbs. Rear seat is pretty light, maybe 10lb total On the dyno, I will use my 3 peice G7s, they weigh 42lbs, so over stock 45lbs, that is about 96lbs (12lbs)in sprung weight. Carbon Drive shaft is another 96lbs in sprung weight (12lbs). Jack and spare 50lbs So, if I dump another grand I can drop about 234lbs. sprung a little more. That would be good for almost .4 of a sec in the quarter.

Nice buy Tony. Wanna buy mine? lol. I might sell the car and start over. Go with a EFI H/C/I 347 or something.

Why? Are you having issues? Your engine is basically the same one I want to run.

Nice, might as well do 50/50 water/meth with the Snow kit and add some timing though. Water won't do that much by itself since you already have an IC.

Re: Blown S197, man I love this car :)
For us Military guys, we get them at a slight discount. Fully loaded everything came in a little over $31k. This car came with every option, a little too much for my taste, but for the price I paid for it, I can deal with it.
I am going to stripe it, but still don't know how I am going to it. Do you guy have pics of stripe kits that you like. I know I do not want just the 2 Shelby stripes, those are too common. I was thinking of a Fat single black srtipe, seperated by a 1/2 inch, then additional black stripe on each side about 1/2" wide.

Actually not totally true about the IC, it depends on if it gets heat soak, in that case, its a huge help.

Re: Blown S197, man I love this car :)
I LOVE THAT WINE COLOR!! Alot of Grand Prix's (the last body style, like a 2000) are that color. In the past few years Ford has come close to that color but, has never been dark enough. I like those wheels also and the tires, they look mean.
As for the stripes. It's up to you but, I like the Shelby stripes. I do not like the Roush stripes. The Roush are too narrow and too close. While, the Shelby's are wider and have a bigger gap. Yes, stripes are getting to be too common, you could do ghost flames or ghost stripes. I've always liked subtle changes, nothing too gawdy or noticeable unless you look twice at it or if someone is into cars and they pay attention to that stuff. Just a nice clean look. But at the same time, if you're paying for it to be done, might as well be noticed. I think on that car with that color I would do silver stripes or grey. Or ofcourse, ghost. |
