Sharing The Wealth!!!

Hi All,

Last Friday (May 11th) I had the pleasure of attending the last gathering of modeling enthusiasts to be held at the Tamiya North America headquarter in Aliso Viejo, California. It was a bitter sweet occasion. Due to escalating property value and declining sales Tamiya has chosen to sell the current facility and down size their US operation. They have leased new warehouse space in Cason, California and the new corporate offices will be in southern Irvine, California. The new corporate office is not big enough to allow them to host further meeting but the club will continue to meet at a alternate location. Because the new facility is much smaller they also had to eliminate there complete stock of what is called "Customer Service Kits". these are the kits they keep on hand to rob parts from in the event you mess something up and require a replacement part. This was done by lottery. There was about 30 guys there. Everyone drew a numbered ticket out of a hat and the number on the ticket determined the order in which you got to go thru the piles of kits. It worked quite well, on your first trip to the pile you where allowed 2 kits, on your second trip you took 4 kits and on the third trip you got 6 kits. After the third trip you continued picking 6 kits until all the kits were gone or in my case there was nothing left you were interested in. After all the kits were gone then they gave away all the paints also from "Customer Service". In total I made out with 33 kits, 36 boxes of paint pins, 13 cans of spray paint, 6 bottles of thinner that you can't get in the US and 1 bottle of CA glue. I am very happy to have had the opportunity to get these kits and supplies and in the interest of spreading the wealth I am going to offer these items to the members of this forum. Below is a complete list of what I was able to haul away. The items in RED are the items I'm keeping and the items in BLUE are spoken for. if anyone is interested in the others let me know and I will make arrangements to get the item too you This will be first come first serve and you will only be charged the shipping costs. As the items are given out I will try to update the list. There is another friend of mine that was also there at the last meeting and he also has items to offer to the member of the forum. As I get the items from him I will add them to the list for your review. So, without any more talk here is the list.

Remember these are all Tamiya products,

I'd love to have the 1/20 Leyton House Kit. I've been searching for that kit for years. Sorry to hear Tamiya is closing down the Aliso Viejo location. Are they still going to have TamiyaCon this fall?

Re: Sharing The Wealth!!!

I suggest the list of what you wish to get rid of goes into the Classifieds Sections - as it should be.

Re: Sharing The Wealth!!!

Hi Again,

Woooooow what a response.

I didn't expect so many, so fast.

Thanks to all for the kind words. I'm only sorry that I will not be able to accommodate everyone's wishes.

Freakray, Sorry but I didn't really think of it as a Classified because I'm not selling anything. If there's a next time I'll make sure to get it into the proper location.

There have been a few that have contacted about something listed under the parts section of my post and I'm not sure that you understand that those are incomplete kits. Please check your PM's to make sure you are not someone I'm waiting to here back from.

OK, pending a few people getting back to me here is what is spoken for.

May 19

11:11pm AF member, 1/24 Toyota Celica Rally, One each color paint pen.

May 20

12:57am AF member, Honda NSR500 # 14077
12:58am AF member, Peugeot 405T Kit and Parts
4:16am F1M member, Ferrari 312T-3 Kit and Parts
5:57am F1M member, Peugeot 205 parts, Nissan R89/R90 Body
8:45am F1M member, Honda NSR500 # 14087 Parts
10:54am F1M member, Yamaha YZR500 (OW70) Kit, One each color paint pen.

Pending kits are:

1/12 312T-4 parts
1/20 Mp4/13 parts
1/20 Lola 93/00 Kit
1/20 Leyton House parts

Thanks again for all the kind words
