How do you remove the dashboard vent?
I have a 2006 Taurus and someone broke the fins on one of the vents located just above the radio. Does anyone know how to remove the vent so that I can repair it? Do I have to remove the entire dashboard? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Re: How do you remove the dashboard vent?
I'm not familiar with the 2006 specifically, but many times if you insert a flat blade screwdriver on both sides of the vent, you can compress the tabs that the vent rotates on and then pull the vent out that way. The new one would snap in. This often times works on rectangular vents. Does the 2006 have circular vents or something unique?

You didn't say 'which' vent
if it's the center/dual vent then they unscrew from behind. Remove the radio and you'll see some screws. There's also either a screw or a snap on the far left side. Then unsnap that center piece and remove the screws to remove the vent
