Transmission Issues

I have a 2000 Camaro EX-state police vehicle with 99,000 miles. It will not shift into drive/overdrive. Changed the filter and fluid to no avail. Any thoughts or suggestions. Thanks

Re: Transmission Issues

There are no vacuum lines going to the transmission, there haven't been vacuum lines going to GM transmissions since the days of the TH350. When will people learn this?

Re: Transmission Issues

i believe you have the 4L60 (non-electronic), instead of the 4L60e. if this is true there should be a connector on the driver side of the transmission.... it has 3-4 metal connectors inside of it. make sure that connection is actually plugged into the tranny. it controls the torque converter lockup. check the wires for damage.

if that doesnt work, you may have an electronic tranny (that im not completely familiar with the internals), or a problem with servos, worn out band, or speed senor problem. could be a lot of stuff.

any other symptoms? early shifts? slow shifting? is that the only gear?

Re: Transmission Issues

A 2000 will be a 4L60E. The PCM controls transmission shifting. Check all of the electrical connections. After that, it is rebuild time.
