transmission fit?

thanks for the help on the previous question, but i have another question. I also have a 1987 scottsdale with a 350 4wd. would the tranny fit into a 1995 half ton silverado with 350 and 4wd. Thanks, chart

What trans is coming out of the '87 and what trans is currently in the '95. If the '95 is an automatic it will be a 4l60e (e) for electronic. If the '87 is also automatic, 4 speed, it will be the 700r4. They are a lot the same, but different in the way that they are shifted internally. If you are changing manual to manual, some basic mods may need to be done, depending on the model of trans.

i know the 95 has a 4l60e tranny and i am unsure on the 87. i do know that they are both 350 4wd and both automatic. if they are different, is there a way to make it work. Also, would anyone know where i could find a gently used 4L60E tranny and approximately what is a good price for one.?? thanks, chart
