Blue tooth converters

I have a 2005 Avalanche and want to know if any one has heard how to use the on star car kit for a blue tooth phone but not subscribe to on star or verizion. Is there any manufacturers who make something to tie into the speaker and microphone so that it mutes the music as if you were using on star?
