For the lines in the doors, do you mean the panel lines?

well, Pman uses Gundam Markers, in the faq there is a different way (under how to paint car bodies) and when I do panel lines, I use a very fine permanent marker, although I rarely do panel lines.

A couple ideas for panel lines...

If you can find disposable technical pens under the brand name "Pigma Micron" and they have sizes .005 and .01, get those. They work quite well. Hobby Lobby, Michael's and some big art supply houses carry them. They also help to detail grilles and some wheel details with more precision than using black paint and a small brush.

I have graduated to using thinned acrylic (water based) paints for panel lines. I generally use Tamiya bottled acrylic flats. I mix up a color that is darker than the body color, and thin it with Tamiya thinner, and apply with a thin, long-bristle watercolor brush.

Practice mixing darker shades of the colors you use on the body, which can be done easily-for example if you've got a light blue car you can use dark blue paint. You can mix a small bit of black or a dark color like brown to a color similar to the body color to get the right shade. White cars would use a medium gray panel wash, yellow cars an orange/brown, silver cars a dark gray, red cars would use maroon. The effect is very subtle and very realistic.

Those millennium pens are great for panel lines, at only $1.75. They go into sizes as small as .005mm.
