transmission fit?

Could anyone tell me whether a transmission out of a 2wd 1989 suburban with a 350 will fit in a 4wd 1995 1500( also has a 350) the tranny blew up in the half ton and i have a transmission from a suburban sitting around. it has been sitting for about 3 years. any reccomendations on what to do ( i figure it will be a little jumpy if i use it.) thanks in advance. Re: transmission fit?

In 89, the tranny is a 4L60 (700R4) and in 95 it is a 4L60E, so right there you have problems. Also, the tail shaft housing is different between 4x4 and 2wd.

This is not going to work. You are better off trying to find a 4L60E that is for a 4x4.
