Question I'm so confused.

Hi. Hopefully I won't ask too much of anyone, but I'm completely lost.
I have a 1992 Pontiac Grand am, 2 door.I don't know anything else about my car, the owner manual didn't come with it when I bought it used. So hopefully someone here will be able to help me, I've got a lot of questions.

1)This one seems more important than the other 2 questions. When I turn, I can't speed up. the car makes the vroom sound like its trying to, but it only makes the sound, as soon as I straighten out, the car speeds up. I don't have a clue what is going on. Anyone have a suggestion?

2)Money is an issue..well who doesn't have that issue really, but I got in a really bad wreck. where I was pushed into another lane and ultimately got 'T'd. A car ran into my passenger side. the dent is huge, is there anything that can be done to it, short of just getting a door from a salvage yard?

3)What is the best way to paint the car at home, I heard somewhere to use spray paint, others say to hand paint. I don't want it to look bad, I want it to look nice, but can't afford for it to be done by professionals.

4)I seem to actually have a lot of car engine problems. Does anyone have a suggestion for a good place to take my car. A place that is reputable? I live in Lexington SC.
Thank so much in advance!

SB.
