hELP PLACEMENT OF THE TRUNK SUPPORTS
I just bought two trunk supports for my 83 Cadillace Deville, but i can't find a place to install them anywhere. I bought them because my trunk will not stay open at all. You have to hold it up yourself. Any help would be great. Thanks

They are hidden below the parcel shelf.
Look on the trunk lid supports themselves and you will see where they go. They are not out in the open, like most newer cars.

look for the hinges on the deck lid and lift the carpet covering them out of the way, you should be able to see the supports then. Dont forget to support the lid with something to keep it from falling down

I just looked at my 80 dev.,they are hard to see when standing outside of car,crawl in your trunk,lie on your back and look at end of the curved bracket,(The end that's connected to car and not the trunk)easy to see when your in there.
mine does not involve moving any carpeting?, ditto on supporting your trunk lid,you might kick support when your in there and lock yourself in. let us know how you make out.
