Re: Please help me

Techinically, I guess its possible. But I seriously doubt it. And twin turbos and a supercharger is possible too, but too much work involved and its not practical. Boost is boost.

There's a video on the net of the ultra-expensive Bugatti Veyron doing a top-speed run in Germany. It hit 245mph or so, but it is a 'quad-turbo W-16' motor with 1001hp (metric hp)and AWD. It explains the physics of it in the video, so this guy will basically need to be making 1001hp with incredible suspension and 6 miles+ worth of straight track.

Personally, I think he's full of shit.

Re: Please help me

Here's that video of the Veyron.

And with the proper suspension setup and stuff, it doesn't take more than 600hp the lift the front end off the ground.

Re: Please help me

That Bugatti was wind tunnel designed, has THE most trick suspension made and has 1001 PROVEN horsepower and it hits 256 MPH.
So...in a NON areodynamic first gen with no special suspension...figure he'd need at least 1500 HP (and a heafty insurance policy) to get to 200-250... Your friend is so full of bullshit I can smell him from here.
Tell him its time to put up or shut up.

Re: Please help me

The fastest car ive ever seen in real life up close was a federal mogul dragster. it hit 255.39 MPH and ran the 1/4 mile in 5.48 seconds. You know when your around a car that is capable of that kind of speed...

Re: Please help me

245 in a street legal 67 maro???? Probably claims to be the next John Holmes too.

I'm with Morley... Ask him for the track slip and see how much he has to say.

Also a 572 big block alone costs around $13K. Not to mention a $3k -$5k transmission that'll take that kind of power, and what about the rear end... probably another $3k? And he's got a supercharged, twin turbo'd 454??? What's he, a Rockafellar? Or is he daddy's little bitch? Next time he talks that smack, and doesn't show you a track slip... knock his damned teeth out. (I HATE liars.)

Re: Please help me

sounds like a load of crap.

besides, if it has the claimed 1,500hp he's wasted money. twin turbos can get over 1,800hp when mated to a 454. and a supercharger can make the same. there's no real reason to twin charge it for drag racing.

besides, if it were real you would've seen it (or at least heard it) by now.

Re: Please help me

wow.. the stories some come up with, To start we have a nitro funny car that weighs 2250 lbs, race ready. it runs a 500ci stage 15 KB hemi on 85% nitro making aprox 2500hp and it hasnt hit 245 MPH yet, so it major bs, kick him in the balls and tell him to get a life, there absolutely no way a car could ever be street legal and be capable of 245mph, not possible EVER!

Re: Please help me

its possible to make enough power to do it, but i dont think you could legally run a big block with a mert 14-71 on it, ALSO you could never evere ever do it on reg gas, alcohol or nitro, AND youd be lucky to hit 200mph with a blown BBC, major bs, im done ranting@

To say anything about being streetable.

Edit** and wasn't the fastest f-body ran only at the salt flats and hit 210ish before being shut down over concerns that the body was ready to fly apart?

oh, and it was a third gen of course
