Speedometer problem
Hi,
The speedometer of my 1993 Corolla is not working properly. It would stuck at 0 when I start driving it. Then about 10 minutes or so later it would suddenly rapidly go all the way to about 55 mph. If then I press on the brake gently or otherwise it would quickly go all the way down to 0 and stuck there and the cycle repeat about every 10 minutes. What is the most likely cause of the problem? Does it look like I need to replace the instrumentation cluster? Thanks in advance for your insight. |

Re: Speedometer problem
yes your clust will have to be replaced. I had the same problem with a 96 escort. you could find a cluster at a junk yard for a good price.

Re: Speedometer problem
Yea, I wish I'd known that too. I did the same thing and bought the speedo sensor.
I dunno if I'm even gonna get the new cluster now... speeding's more fun. |
