Oil change problem

I tryed to change my oil yesterday and i was turning the bolt under the oilpan to the left but it just kept on turning. The bolt wasnt coming out at all. has this happend to anyone else? Could it be stripped?

If you've had your oil changed at a quicky lube, it's probably stripped.

Aw crap, yeah I usually go to xpress lube and then i decided to start doing it myself. Thanks for the speedy response. So am I gonna be able to get the bolt out or do I need a whole new oil pan?

IF you use something to put a little outward pressure on the the drain plug as you turn it, you may be able to get a thread to bite and get it out. Usually, the damage is done to the plug, not the pan, so if you get it out, chase the threads in the pan with a tap and buy a new plug.

Oh ok thanks. Do you know waht size tap is needed? I know the plug is 15mm but I'm do not know the thread size?
