relay question.

hi, a freind of mine gave me his blue interior neons and i was thinking about putting them in. and i want to have them come when my head unit comes on. so i firgured i would get a relay and use my remote turn-on wire but i was wondering how can i firgure out how much current it uses to find a relay for it,

would a 10 amp relay one work for 6 6" neons and 3 amps.

i think having a starter relay is going a bit to far.
