01 cherokee tinted glass

I am picking up an 01 with clear glass all around. A couple of questions.

I would like factory tint. Is there a way to get this done so it looks OEM? If so, how much would that cost?

Would I be better off to just get the glass off of one in a junkyard store? If so, how much would that run installed?

Any help is appreciated.

Re: 01 cherokee tinted glass

Here, read this: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthrea...highlight=tint

And this: http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthrea...highlight=tint

The rear quarters and hatch on my '98 are code- M537
The fronts are- M504

I'd just get the code for what'cha like, (my '89 has more of a mirror effect going on), and then goto a pro shop to get it done. Call 'em and ask for prices.

Re: 01 cherokee tinted glass

Factory glass is going to be $$ expensive. A tint shop would be reasonable and they do any excellent job.

Re: 01 cherokee tinted glass

I appreciate the input. I now own two 01 Cherokee's. My youngest son drives one and I the other. I suspect I will lose mine shortly after either of my other two sons get their hands on it.

I love these machines; me after driving 3 bimmers for the last nine years. BMW is in serious trouble. They lost guys like me all over this county because of the way they treated their customers, most recently the RFT and bad oil sensor on the 3's.

I have always driven new cars, but after driving the Jeeps, I'll gladly let others take the deprecation hit.

Thanks again.

Re: 01 cherokee tinted glass

Just got back from Jeep Jamboree with my 10 year old Cherokee XJ. Out performed all the Libertys there.

The new 2007 Wrangler (JK) will be carrying the torch on for Jeep. Or in our case the XJ and the TJ. Some of the older Grands with lifts and larger tires are totally capable also.

A Commander that was there with a 2 inch lift and 31.25" equivalent tires was also impressive.

Sorry to hijack the thread...but Yes for Jeep...and BMWs are definitely purchased more for style. I remember when I started working on cars, hardly anyone drove Bimmers. And that is in California.
