slave cylinder or master cylinder

i have a 95 cherokee sport 4.0 4x4 5speed. last summer i replaced the clutch disc, pressure plate, pilot bearing, and release bearing, and had the flywheel machined. now, a year later, its hard to get into 1st, 2nd, and reverse when running, but easy when not running. there are no fluid leaks, the reservoir is full, and i don't see how air got in the system since its never been opened. i think it is a master cylinder problem, but does anyone know how i can tell if its the master or the slave?

Cool Re: slave cylinder or master cylinder

Probably the master, but I'd do them both and just bleed it once.

Re: slave cylinder or master cylinder

i found out the dealership sells the master, line, and slave as a set, and was as cheap as buying both parts sepratley at a parts store. everything is good to go on my jeep now.
