Parking lights(turn signals) not working right?
My girlfriend has a 99 Intrigue, and the only problem with it is that the turn signals blink rapidly. Normally this means a bad bulb, but we tried that and it didn't do anything. Also, the front ones don't work at all, except at night when they automatically do. I think it may be a wiring problem or something. For a while they would go back and forth(work, then wont, then will). Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks
Tim

Re: Parking lights(turn signals) not working right?
I have had problems with the bulb sockets. I cleaned the contacts and carefully bent them to make better contact with the bulb. Also have seen the poor connection heat up the contacts on the bulb so they melt into the base of the bulb which prevents contact between the bulb and socket.

Re: Parking lights(turn signals) not working right?
If you have a test light, check to see if power is getting all the way to the harness when you kick the signal on.
My mom's Chevy Venture has a similar problem, and I believe its caused by the harness itself in her case, because power makes it all the way up to the harness, but doesnt get transmitted to the bulb because of reasons brian mentioned. You might tear things apart and see whats goin on down there, the test light is your friend, theyre cheap and easy to use, if you dont have one, I suggest you get one, theyre handy in electrical situations of all kinds.

Re: Parking lights(turn signals) not working right?
Agree with kmohr. The parking light socket is known to go bad in the Intrigues. Replaced mine over two years ago. Take the bulb out and inspect the socket. It probably has burn marks on the connectors. You can try to clean it but most likely needs replacement. you can order the new socket online at www.gmdirect.com or www.rockauto.com. Either online website is much cheaper then the dealership ($35). It will take you 10 minutes from opening the hood to washing your hands to replace the socket.
