97 aurora no spark
Well it was running great, just died going down the road. The only code that it shows is the ox sensor. There is no spark going to the engine, all the fuses checked out so i have no idea now. Thanks for any help.

Re: 97 aurora no spark
Spark is controlled by the CRANK POSITION SENSOR. That sends the signal to the DIS to fire.
If you are not getting spark, the first thing I would check is the WIRING (make sure the DIS, and the CPS are plugged in, and no wires broken). If the wires are good, I would replace the CPS (crank position sensor) first. If you still do not have spark, I would then check the DIS. Also, be sure you check ALL the spark plug wires for spark. Not just one. You might have only 1 wire that will spark. That would mean the DIS is bad. Happened in my Grand Prix STE that way. |

Re: 97 aurora no spark
You can check the Crank position sensor before you replace it by checking the resistance across the two terminals. Not sure about the exact specs but it should be a kilo-ohm or 2. If it is short or open then it is bad for sure.

Re: 97 aurora no spark
Ok, I replaced the crank sensor and still no spark,so i went to salvage yard and got a coil pack and control module, still no spark, all the wires seem to be ok.It is not showing any codes that would keep it from starting. Would the cam sensor cause this? Anymore ideas?
