System Too Lean
Im new to the forum and im not sure exactly where this thread should be, i posted it under the 06+ civic forum and im posting it here since it is a technical question.
My check engine light has been on for a little while, i finally put $60 down to buy a scanner and see whats up. the light had been on earlier for the throttle position sensor, but that was taken care of. this time the code is for "System too lean". I just recently installed a cold air intake, i am assuming that the inscreased air flow could be the cause, any tips on how i can fix it to balance the system? Dont know if it helps, but here is the freeze data from the scanner: DTC that caused freeze frame - PO171 System Too Lean Throttle position - 20.3% Engine RPM - 2192rpm Barometric pressure - 98KPa Load value - 45.8% Air flow rate - 13.32 Gr/sec MAP sensor - 69KPa Coolant Temp - 159*F Intake air temp - 77*F Ignition timing adv - 33.5 Deg Short term fuel trim 1 - 21.8% Long term fuel trim 1 - 25.7% Short term fuel trim 3 - -33.0% Long term fuel trim 3 - -33.0% Vehicle speed - 39mph Absolute load value - 33.0% Fuel system 1 - clsd Fuel system 2 - N/A Relative throttle position - 11.3% Command throttle actuator control - 12.5% Accel pedal position D - 34.9% Accel pedal position E - 17.2% Command EGR - 0% Command evap purge - 0% Command equivalence ratio - 0.973 Fuel level input - 74.5% Control module voltage - 14.525V |
