exhaust manifold bolts

A bolt on the rear left side of my exhaust manifold broke. The dealer said that it would be a very difcult fix because the area is very hard to get to. has anyone experienced this problem or know anyone who has. Right now it doesn't really matter, but it is an annoying ticking sound.

Re: exhaust manifold bolts

when it happened to me I had to pull the motor just enough so I had room. I lucked out because there was still some bolt to grab on to.I had to heat it up just a little but it came out.If it broke flush you could try to drill it a little and use a bolt extractor and a little heat. Or your final option is to drill it out and re-tap it. Good luck, its a B!t@#

I appreciate the optimism. I will try this and get back.
