01 silhouette video player??

i have a video player that the screen lights up when i put a vhs or dvd in but stays dark i can also hear the audio any ideas

sounds like loose video wire or the head needs cleaned in vhs and dvd needs cleaned i would pull the system out and check for loose wire behind it as i remember i pulled my vhs out i think there wasn't much to get it out
