electric locks and dome light

Here is an odd one for the pros out there... I just got a 97 Lumina. It has electric locks. While driving it out of town early, about 45 minustes down the road, the door locks started locking and unlocking in unison with the dome light going on and off.... lasts about 3 to 5 seconds. Scared the $@%#$ out of me (5 AM). It may do it every 15 minutes, or I may drive it an hour or better before it happens, but it happens all the time. Any guesses as to where to start looking?? The locks work, and the dome light works as expected as well. I am not sure where to even start...

sounds like a faulty groud somewhere to me. May want to find a wiring diagram for each system, and see if maybe they share a common ground. Also does it have keyless entry? I know mine i i push lock and unlock, the dome lights come on also. Maybe something is messed up with your keyless entry module. Some one else may have to help you with that. I dont even know where it is.

I will look into the keyless entry, that makes sense, if anything could. Maybe there is a fuse for keyless entry, I will see. Thanks for the reply.
