Re: Luggage On Ebay...

It looks like fairly unremarkable luggage, to be honest. You can get really great luggage nowadays, no matter what your requirements. Roller-blade wheels, ergonomic handles, waterproof compartments, distinctive look, top-quality ballistic nylon or high-grade leather, innovative touches like neoprene laptop sleeves, zip out day-packs, custom fitted stuff for specific items like tennis rackets or crossbows, reinforced exoskeletons that kids can sit on and get wheeled around, etc., etc. It's all out there.

Not everything McLaren touches is going to be world-class. They made the world's best cars, not luggage. I am sure it's good quality materials, but it smacks of the same pointlessness as Ferrari-branded Acer laptops or Porsche sunglasses or Lamborghini leather portfolios.

Re: Luggage On Ebay...

The Ebay listing is incorrect,

It is not a complete set. There are six pieces of luggage, plus the golf bag (option).

The two best bits are missing? I would feel short changed, If I bid on those items.

Re: Luggage On Ebay...

Still, how often do you see any bits of McLaren luggage come up? Its unlikely the winning bidder is buying it for his/her McLaren. They'll be sold to a collector and re-appear in 10 years time for 100x the price

I also agree with F1 Monster but you've gotta admit, it would be a cool thing to have

Re: Luggage On Ebay...

I agree with F1 Monster. Collecting all things McLaren, this seems more of a let down than anything. I'm rather unimpressed/un excited. Had the items been brand new, it might be a slightly different story... just slightly.

And I thought the F1 luggage were embossed directly onto the leather rather than having an embossed patch stitched. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) Maybe I'm just too skeptical on this one. But for some reason, they don't seem right.

Re: Luggage On Ebay...

They appear to be identical to what the cars originally came with from my perspective. Le Man is correct that the set is not complete though.

Re: Luggage On Ebay...

Something else I have noticed, is that the description states that the cases have a sandy suede material lining. bit different to the lining in the pic!!

A very tasteful F1 lining..... Interesting.

I,d like to know, which chassis # they came from.
