which is better

which is better a zetec engine or a duratec engine and whats the differnce between the 2 ?

No. Duratec is both I4 and V6.

Theres actually 2 i4, 2.0L and 2.3L.

Both Focus engines are Duratecs, including the 2.0 the difference is 6 hp but basicly the same engine, but they just changed the name so that all of their DOHC 4 valve engines are now duratec, just a common name means nothing

Are you saying the Duratec is a renamed zetec? If so.. No.. Duratec is a completely new motor, coil-over-plug ignition, timing chain, intake and exhaust are on both sides of the motor. It's a completely new motor.

yeah i have a 2.0L 16vzetec engine, SUCKS BALLS every part i need its the highest out of all the engine models

The zetec does not 'suck balls'.. You probably don't know how to do regular maintence.. I have 2 96' zetec one with 186k and one with 146k and they both run like BRAND NEW!

the 2.3L duratec engin is a strong motor but they dont sell as many after market parts for them as they do for the zetec so ide say go with a 2.0L zetec and turbocharge the damn thing and blow everyone in town away!

I would love to refer you to www.focussport.com and see the turbo kits and intakes exhaust systems, engine computers and internals etc etc that they stock for the 2.3
