2008 Lancer GTS or 2007 Mazda3 GT??

Hello people! I haven't posted here in a very long time. But, I need some advice.

I've been car shopping for like a month now, and after I've gone to every single dealership in the city, I've narrowed it down to the 2 cars.

I test drove both cars.

The Mazda3 GT drove a lot smoother, and had a sunroof, but only has a 3yr/80,000 warranty.

The Lancer GTS was a rougher ride (the guy said because of the sport-tuned suspension), didn't have a sunroof, but had paddleshifters! (which I won't use anyway lol) and bluetooth (which I probably wont use either). But has a 10yr/160,000 warranty.

The Mazda3 is more expensive, but because there interest rate is lower, it actually ends up being the exact same payment as the Lancer.

So, I'm not sure if I should go for the car that drives really well and has nice features, or go with the car that's still nice, but not as good, and has a better warranty...

Any advice would be appreciated!!

I'm gonna test drive both again today.

Even though it seems better than most, Mitsubishi has somewhat of a bad rap when it comes to warranties and the Lancer is not a good car anyway (except for Evo of course) so I say stick with the Mazda.

Re: 2008 Lancer GTS or 2007 Mazda3 GT??

Personally, i prefer the lancer because i'm more into the sportier looking cars. I drive manual and prefer the sports tuned suspension. The mazda 3 is now old and may only have one more year before a new model comes out. The lancer is an all new model this year which will not change for another 4 years at least. Lancer GTS is also 6-speed CVT and if i'm not wrong the mazda3 is only 5-speed. I would recommend buying the manual transmission, makes it more fun to drive.

- Lancer comes with 18" stock rims and skirts and spoiler.
- Lancer has bucket seats
- Performance all season dunlop tires
- Lancer has a really small turning radius and if i'm not wrong; smaller than the mazda 3 but u shud research that to be sure
- Lancer has better handling and should feels more powerful but i'm not sure about the automatic transmission.

** this is also an all new lighter engine.

*** This new lancer is anticipated to bring mitsubishi into the north american market. It should not depreciate like other mitsubishi's and this car is actually manufactured in Japan unlike other mitsubishi's.
