engine swap
I have a 1988 s-10 4x4 with a 2.8. i have a chevy 305 just sitting around and i was thinking about swaping engines. how hard do you think this would be? thank you for any information.

check out summit they have all parts needed it is a fairly straight forward swap

i know you would need to replace the tranny too, because the v8 is a 90 degree block, and the 2.8 is a 60 degree block, so they won't bolt up.

It's not a big deal. You need a set of CNC machined motor mounts that will bolt right up with your 2.8L ones on the frame. Short headers and the deeper oil pan... http://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/store...0002_758539_-1 Jegs offers kits. :P You should drop it 4" while you're at it like i did
