How does Studio 27 resin react to brake fluid?
Hi!
I have a larger S27 resin piece that has gone bad when priming it. The shape of it does not work well for sanding the primer down. I was about to put the part in brake fluid when I did some searching on the forum and found out that brake fluid can soften the resin. But I also read that it does work well on some resin types. Any of you guys tested brake fluid on S27 resin or have a better solution for my troubles? best regards Joel

Re: How does Studio 27 resin react to brake fluid?
Use Nitro thiner and wide brush, (realy big one for 1:1 painting), pour Nitro in wide pan and just brush the primer of, it goes extremly easy and it will not damage resin, just don't dip and leave part in Nitro. Brake fluid is not perfect solution since it could damage resin parts, other option is oven cleaner.

Re: How does Studio 27 resin react to brake fluid?
Hi and thanks for the advice, I'll see if I can get my hands on some Nitro (if avaliable here...). Regarding oven cleaner, will that really take care of Tamiya primer? Think I've tried that before...

Mr. Muscolo is strong enough (from Johnson, maybe the name in Sweden is different, other ones I tried didn't work). You must have Nitro thiner, maybe in different name, Nitro is the strongest multipurpose thiner (you have three typ of universal thiners, oil, synthetic and nitro)

Some feed back to you Sasa. The thinner worked like a dream. Just flew off. Now I just have to think out a way to use the rest of the approx. 0.999999 litres of thinner I have left... But I guess there will be plenty of other builds to practice on.

Quote:
I use it for cleaning AB if you have one without rubber bearings all over, because rubber does not like this thinner
