97 Cavi Will Not Start.. im stumped

Greetings all, Ive got a 97 Cav with a 2.2 I recently purchased it in hopes of fixing it to drive as a work car. The car turns over, but will not start.

Ive replaced the spark plugs, Ive tested the fuel pump ( 60 PSI ) is what the gauge reads.. we are getting spark ( tested Via, number one plug out and grounded it ) when we turn the key you hear the fuel pump run and if ya listen under the hood you hear the fuel rail fill. as I turn the car over is just dosnt do anything.. it will every now and then sound like it wants to start but goes right back to the same ol thing.. if I hold and or pump the gas petal the wanting to start thing well.. it gets better but dosnt start. i havnt replaced much of anything except the fuel filter and plugs. the person i purchased the car off of said it just wouldnt start one morning and hasnt sence ( about 6 months ago ) so... any help would be greatly apriciated.

Ive also got a 89 S15 pickup that wont stay running!, new fuel pump 58psi. new plugs, new distributor, new wires.. put it in time. its runs for about 20 seconds then sputters out and spits gas from the TB so im about at my whits end with both vehichles!

Any help would be greatly apriciated. many thanks in advance.

97 cavalier won t start getting fire,gas turn over but not start

97 cavalier 2.2 turn over but won"t start changed spark plugs ,ecm,crank sensor checked injecter to see if spraying getting fire ,gas also changed timing chain but won"t start.
