Door key wont turn

hi, my 03 civic LX key wont turn. I put my key on the driver side door to open but it wont turn, it's all the way in but can't turn. my key has a safety lock and i have to go around the passenger side and go in side to open the driver side. Any 1 have dis problem or no how to fix it????

Strange when I bought my 04 brand new the same thing happen...I just forgot about it and used my keyless entry. I don't have an answer for you as to why it does not work but I imagine it has something to do with the locking mechanism. I'll look around for some answers if no one else chimes in.

do you have the key that came with the car new???
if so take it to a good lock smith because some cant be made at menards or any oher cheap place..
might even put penatraiting oil on key.

well i got the key with my car new, it came with it...but it worked find before...just one night i turned it once and it wouldn't turn anymore.

sounds like key is wore down or the lock it's self in door....good luck...

I have the same problem with my 03 Civic. Although I find that if I insert the key at a slight angle to the right, the key works.
