transmission problem
I got a 92 Turbo Eclipse. Reverse gear struggles and it wont stay in 5th gear. Just got a new clutch. the mechanic said that that the car wanted to go in reverse and forward when I put in reverse so it shatterd the clutch because of it. the problem started after a mechanic put a clutch in the first time. I ve heard it could be the linkage and I heard I neet a tranny rebiuld. this is the first of the things I got to fix. I plan to upgrade everything except the turbo to see how much power I can get without a turbo swap. I got the car for $800 with 150,000miles on it. it was my sisters. Ive done spark plugs & wires, oil change, brakes and cooling system parts. I would appreciate any advice given

Re: transmission problem
So you mean that you can get it in every other gear except for reverse? Have you adjusted the pedal? Even though the car has a hydraulic clutch system, it still needs to be adjusted.
