Receiver and trailer wiring questions

Hello everyone, I have a 2004 Silverado with the 4.8. I am looking to buy a receiver for the vehicle. What are your recommendations? The max that I will tow (short distances) is a 3500 lbs. tractor with a trailer that probally weighs 1500 lbs. I am having a hard time finding a class IV receiver and the adaptor to plug into the factory wiring harness. Will a Reese class III do the job? Is the factory harness a female 6 or 7 pin? Also, what is the best way to mount the harness. I want to go with the 7 pin so that I can buy a 6 and 4 pin adaptor to cover everything that I will pull.

Thanks for your time,
Corey

Personally, I'd go OEM
